Sofia, European Capital of Sport in 2018 was the host City of the seventh ASPIRE Sport training session.

The audience consisted of representatives of the Bulgarian Red Cross, the Caritas Foundation, the National Sports Academy, the Bulgarian Council on Refugees and Immigrants, the Concordia Foundation and various Bulgarian sports organizations, including the national federation of rugby, handball, tennis, gymnastics and rowing.

Organized together with the Bulgarian Association of Physical Culture and Sport (BSFS), the workshop focused on intercultural and social challenges, migration trends and key concepts.

The discussions touched also the current situation of refugees and emigrants in Europe. Georgi Natov from BSFS, together with Yanita Ripova, expert of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, presented the current situation in Bulgaria

Theoretical guidance from the ASPIRE Sport training module were presented by Dr. Richard Bailey (ICSSPE / CIEPSS), while ENGSO Special Advisor, Sallie Barker, presented the “Project Introduction”.
