The second training session for the penultimate part of the ASPIRE project took place at Bosön in Stockholm.
The afternoon was the first of two occasions where Sweden (RF) and Germany (DOSB) met to work with two of the ASPIRE chapters as part of an exchange project. The next session will be at the end of November when a group from Sweden will travel to Germany.
Participating in today’s training session were regional coordinators who work with integration/inclusion in sports as well as specialist sport federations. The afternoon began with information about the ASPIRE project, the chapters and how the module can be applied in Sweden. After the introduction, Anna Strugovshchikova joined through Skype to talk about the DOSB’s structure, how they work with integration and guided the group through the chapter about Intercultural Dialogue. The day ended with two employees from the regional district office of Gävleborg talking about their transnational exchange with DOSB in May. They explained what they had learnt from the exchange and their visits to local offices.
One of the participants said, at the end of the day: “It’s incredibly exciting to lift the perspective when it comes to these questions and look at Europe and, in this case, Germany. There are so many similarities but also differences in our work that we can learn from.”
The day was successful and provided inspiration, knowledge and many rewarding conversations going forward.
